FAQ

Common registered agent and formation questions

Straight answers for Florida founders and operators. For deeper guides, see Answers.

Do I need a registered agent in Florida?

Yes. Florida LLCs, corporations, nonprofits, PLLCs, and limited partnerships must maintain a registered agent with a physical street address in the state and keep that information current with the Division of Corporations.

Can I be my own registered agent?

You can, if you have a Florida street address and are available during business hours. Many owners prefer a service so a home address is not published on Sunbiz and someone is always available to accept process.

What is service of process?

It is the formal delivery of lawsuit papers or other legal notices. Your registered agent accepts those documents on behalf of the company and must promptly notify you.

What business types can you form in Florida?

We offer formation for Florida LLCs, for-profit corporations, nonprofit corporations, PLLCs, and limited partnerships. Each has its own service page with filing details and demo pricing.

Do you form LLCs?

Yes. Florida LLC formation includes preparing and filing Articles of Organization with Sunbiz, and you can bundle RA Florida as your registered agent on the same order.

How much does Florida LLC formation cost?

Demo pricing is $199 plus Florida state filing fees. Corporations are $199, limited partnerships $229, and nonprofit or PLLC formations $249, each plus state fees.

Will you open my personal mail?

We handle official and legal correspondence related to your entity. Marketing junk is discarded per your plan rules; anything that looks like state, tax, bank, or legal mail is scanned or forwarded.

How fast will I hear about a lawsuit?

Complete plan clients are notified the same business day we accept service. Essential plan clients receive email notice with a scan as soon as processing is complete, typically within one business day.

Can you help me change agents?

Yes. After you order, we provide the details and checklist for filing a registered agent change on Sunbiz. Filing fees paid to the state are separate.

What happens if I miss an annual report?

We send reminders, but you remain responsible for filing and paying the state. Late annual reports can lead to fees or administrative dissolution.
